Frequently Asked Questions

Why are residential rent agreements in India typically made for 11 months?

Under Section 17 of the Indian Registration Act 1908, lease agreements for a period exceeding 11 months (12 months or more) mandate compulsory registration with the Sub-Registrar and payment of higher stamp duty. An 11-month agreement avoids mandatory registration requirements in most Indian states.

Does this generated draft constitute a legally binding agreement automatically?

This tool provides a standardized legal draft. To make it legally enforceable, the agreement should be printed on non-judicial stamp paper of appropriate value as mandated by your state government (or executed via official e-stamping) and signed by both parties in the presence of two witnesses.

Is my personal information or address stored on your servers?

No. India Utility Hub never stores personal identities, property addresses, or financial inputs. All document generation happens purely inside your browser.
